Sterile Laboratory Unit Upgrade: Infill Building and Alterations to Existing Pharmaceutical Facility at Schering Plough Management and co-ordination of construction of Infill Building and refurbishment/alterations to existing pharmaceutical facility including sterile laboratory unit upgrade in existing operational pharmaceutical campus. This project was carried out within an operational campus, and in the vicinity of highly sensitive pharmaceutical research laboratories, teaching/training facilities, seminar rooms and office and restaurant facilities.


The Project Involved: 

  • Demolition and refurbishment works to existing buildings.
  • Construction of new infill laboratory unit requiring co-ordination of design and full scope of works.
  • Management of large specialist subcontractors including: demolition, ground works (enabling works incl service diversion site civils works, road diversions,  utility connections, landscaping, attenuation) Mechanical (gas fired boiler heating and ventilation installations, louvred plant area ect) electrical (fire alarm system, public address system, communication & data system, security system ect).
  • Laboratory fit-out with fumehood containment and extraction, bio-containment areas, clean room and cold rooms, anti-vibration laboratories, lift installation, precast concrete floors & roofs, roofing installation, windows and doors, external facade (incl glazing) internal fit-out.
  • The required standard of construction and building performance were achieved, final commissioning & certification to operational standards similar to college standard was also achieved.
