Description:
The North Kildare Educate Together school was awarded the 2004 Architectural Association of Ireland Dowes Bronze Medal for excellence in Architectural design. This single storey ten classroom school, and gymnasium, included two specialized teaching classrooms for children with autism, and was the first custom build integrated school in the Republic of Ireland.
The courtyard design with the protected intimate indoor and outdoor spaces, featured a pitched precast concrete roof slab, which was clad in a copper roof, and incorporated copper clad light shaft boxes, and ventilating chimneys.
