The project comprised an extension of the three storey Urology Department in Connolly Hospital within a tight program and adjacent to existing operational hospital facilities including wards, consultation areas, roof, and in close proximity to the busy Accident and Emergency Department.

Works in included:

  • Roof Repair to the Urology / Physio department
  • Refurbishment  to the Physio Gym
  • New Urology Ward (Connolly Wing)
  • Ceiling repairs to Operating Theatre
  • Refurbishment Toilets (Occupational Health Ward)
  • Refurbishment works in the Connolly Wings
  • Roof Repair to the Urogology / Physio department
  • Refurbishment of Haematology Section (Cherry Ward).

Proposed works activities and methodologies were tightly controlled and managed to take account of the close proximity to patient clinics, administrative areas, patient wards, laboratories, kitchen and canteen functions. Stringent dust control procedures had to be observed, and cleaning activities and management of live hospital interfaces were a pre-requisite to the works commencing.
