Description:
Located within the grounds of St Columba’s College this 124 bedroom medical care facility involved installation of a four storey permanent formwork system, precast concrete floors and roof, and an insulated coloured self rendering system.
Archaeological finds on the site necessitated a co-ordinated approach to the works from the outset. Substructure works commenced in phases with our project team working closely with the Archaeologists and the design team to minimise any impact on the programme. Additional resources were utilised (cranes, concrete and manpower) to reduce the erection and pour duration for the permanent formworks systems resulting in the recovery of programme delays. The delivery, storage and protection of 124 bathroom pods onsite also required careful management and co-ordination on a site with extremely tight access. GFA 5574 m2
