Reporting to the Managing Director, Finland, you will be responsible for the strategic management and delivery of construction projects in a specific region of Finland or within a specific campus on larger projects. The role will span from the pre-construction planning stage through to post-completion.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic

  • Develop short, medium, and long-term construction strategies to ensure projected profitability is achieved and quality and safety standards are maintained.

  • Lead the development of existing construction management processes and the creation of new processes aligned with best-in-class standards.

  • Build relationships with the Project Director and the management team on each campus to ensure ownership, management, and execution of all project elements from concept through to handover.

  • Lead the project delivery teams to ensure the project profitability strategy is in place and executed effectively.

  • Be accountable for the profitability of large-scale projects.

  • Ensure the project delivery teams deploy these strategies effectively throughout the project.

  • Demonstrate visible leadership and accountability on all health and safety matters.

  • Ensure the project delivery team develops a project execution strategy aligned with the project team and the client.

  • Guide and advise the senior management team to ensure all construction management factors are appropriately considered, risk-assessed, and compliant with relevant standards and legislation during the construction process.

  • Identify and develop innovative, cost-effective construction techniques that support quality, compliance, and project outcomes.

  • Foster a culture of trust and collaboration through clear leadership, sound decision-making, and respectful engagement across teams.

Leadership

  • Influence and lead the development and growth of the construction management team.

  • Create a culture of commercial awareness at every stage of the project.

  • Create and lead a culture that prioritizes safety, wellbeing, and collaboration at all phases of the project.

  • Implement and coordinate construction solutions across all projects.

  • Review internal processes on an ongoing basis and identify areas for improvement.

  • Consult with the Commercial Director on the implementation and coordination of commercial solutions across specific projects.

  • Use effective communication skills to deliver professional presentations to clients and design team members, and to build client relationships.

  • Identify and actively manage construction risk.

  • Drive compliance standards within the project management team.

  • Empower growth within the teams through effective delegation, training, and professional development.

  • Champion and uphold Collen’s values in all aspects of the role.

  • Report to and participate in company leadership meetings when required.

  • Communicate relevant information effectively to company leadership.

  • Maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism and integrity.

Business Development

  • Represent Collen professionally in external settings, helping to maintain the company’s reputation and strengthen awareness of its capabilities.

  • Collaborate with the business development department.

  • Secure new work and repeat business by strengthening market perception of the company’s capability, actively developing industry contacts, and building a professional network.

  • Develop cost-saving techniques that contribute to successful tendering.
