We are seeking a regional Quality Engineer to join our Quality team. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent application of quality standards, processed, and procedures across all projects.
Based in Dublin, and offered on a hybrid basis, the role will require travel within the Dublin region.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the key requirements are:
Bachelors’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ in construction project design, engineering or management and ideally previous experience working in a quality role within the construction industry in Europe.
Formal training in Quality and / or knowledge of quality management systems.
Strong understanding of EU regulatory frameworks, industry standards, construction project execution, and technical design and engineering matters.
Interpreting test reports and third party certificates, NCRs, Building regulations, Structural,Civil and MEP standards.
High level of technical construction understanding.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Proficiency in audit and training facilitation.
The key skills required to successfully deliver this role are:
Skilled in completing routine quality checks and ensuring compliance.
Experience carrying out both internal and external audits.
Competency in report writing, for preparation of concise quality and NCR reports.
Possession of analytical skills to identify and solve problems.
Demonstrated history of conducting on-site quality inspections.
Ability to interpret technical drawing.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
The key responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
1. Regional Quality Governance & Strategy
Develop and implement regional Quality Management Strategies aligned with corporate QA/QC goals.
Ensure consistent application of quality standards, processes, and procedures across all projects in the region.
Lead regional deployment of ISO 9001, Lean Construction, or Continuous Improvement systems.
2. Oversight of Project Quality
Review, approve, and monitor Project Quality Plans (PQPs), ITPs, Inspections, and control procedures for all active projects.
Ensure project teams interpret and apply contract specifications and industry standards consistently.
Support project start‑up by ensuring quality frameworks are fully established before construction begins.
3. Multi‑Project Audit & Compliance Management
Conduct regular Quality Audits & Inspections across all sites within the region (internal, supplier, subcontractor).
Identify systemic issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented across all affected projects.
Track audit findings region‑wide and report compliance status to senior leadership.
4. Technical Leadership & Problem Solving
Provide expert guidance on complex quality issues such as:
structural defects
non‑conformance trends
material compliance concerns
workmanship standards
Support root‑cause analysis (RCA) for major failures or repeated NCRs.
Facilitate cross‑project knowledge sharing of best practices and lessons learned.
5. Regional Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor key quality KPIs across all regional projects (NCR rates, rework costs, inspection close-outs, audit findings).
Input to our regional quality dashboards and executive reports.
Identify trends, improvement opportunities, and risk areas.
6. Supplier & Subcontractor Quality Management
Evaluate, pre‑qualify, and audit regional suppliers and subcontractors based on quality performance.
Review material compliance documents, certifications, and testing regimes for high‑risk materials (concrete, steel, MEP systems, façade systems).
Implement continuous improvement programs with strategic suppliers.
7. Team Leadership & Competency Development
Mentor and support projects.
Deliver regional training on:
Quality standards
ITP execution
NCR management
Document control
Lean/CI methods
Develop competency matrices and assess performance of quality teams.
8. Stakeholder Engagement at Regional Level
Represent the region in management reviews, client meetings, and regulatory interactions.
Support project teams during external audits or client inspections.
Communicate regional quality risks and recommendations to senior management.
9. Continuous Improvement & Standardisation
Drive region-wide initiatives to reduce rework, improve efficiency, and enhance quality consistency.
Standardise templates, procedures, and construction quality controls across all projects.
Lead initiatives such as:
Lessons-learned forums
Process optimisation workshops
Quality improvement campaigns
10. Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance
Monitor regulatory changes affecting construction standards within the region.
Ensure projects comply with local building codes, environmental regulations, and safety quality requirements.
Conduct regional risk assessments focused on workmanship quality, materials, and installation processes.
