Collen Supports Engineers Week 2026

As an engineering-led organisation, Collen supported Engineers Week again this year, an initiative led by Engineers Ireland to connect engineering with the next generation through practical and accessible learning experiences.
As part of this year’s programme, our team engaged with 330 students across Dublin, Wexford and Kildare, working with learners from pre-school through to primary and secondary level. It was encouraging to see strong interest in engineering across all age groups, reflected in the questions, discussions and participation throughout the week.
Thank you to our colleagues who contributed their time and expertise during the programme.
A key message shared with students was that there is no single route into engineering. Our colleagues reflect this through the different paths they have taken into their professions and the range of careers they have built across the industry. Engineering today offers multiple entry points, from established technical roles to emerging opportunities shaped by digitalisation, sustainability and technological advancement.
It was also important to highlight the value of diversity within the profession. Different backgrounds, perspectives and experiences strengthen teams, drive innovation and help the industry respond to the changing needs of the built environment.
Thank you to Engineers Ireland and the STEPS Programme for their continued support and resources, and to the schools who welcomed our team throughout the week.
